Come join the www.familyvillage.ca for information on our play groups! We are a group of parents in Windsor who are passionate about wearing our babies close to us. We hold weekly summer meetings and bi-weekly winter meetings where Parents and caregivers can get help using slings and baby carriers and share other parenting resources. Please feel free to bring any carrier you have. We love looking at a types and name brands.

The purpose of carrying your baby is to give you back some of your freedom of movement, and to encourage your child to be intelligent, secure and independent. Wearing your baby encourages calm environment and a more relaxed parent and child. Carrying your baby in a sling type carrier is fabulous for the mental development of your child.

Carrying your baby is absolutely essential for dad to do. If mom is nursing Dad may feel left out, a carrier will show dad that his baby really needs him too. (He DOES sometimes get left out.) Whether you are the biological mommy or daddy or adoptive, carrying your baby encourages parent/child bonding, and a greater sense security in your child.

There are a ton of stylish baby carriers out there. Most of them are wonderfully made, and are great for your bonding experience. If you would like to see some feed back / reviews on slings, wraps other cool carriers and chat with some other parents please check out http://www.thebabywearer.com.
